Las Vegas, NV (January 5, 2015) The 4th SWES was held at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV. LifeAire Systems was honored to be a participant and enjoyed the opportunity to interact with the more than 55 In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Laboratory Directors and embryologists in attendance. Inclusive of these attendees, were 15 IVF industry vendors. The first day consisted of vendor sponsored presentations that were 30 minutes in length. Topics ranged from pre-implantation genetic screening and diagnosis (PGS & PGD), continuous culture media, time-lapse photography, and vitrification. The second day of the meeting consisted of 75-minute presentations, and topics ranged from reporting updates required by SART and the latest news on assisted reproductive technologies (ART) and the environment.
The LifeAire Systems sponsored topic was “Take Control: Own Your Environment” and was presented by founder, Kathryn Worrilow, Ph.D. The presentation was well received and sparked spirited dialogue over the impact ambient air in the clinical space has on clinical outcomes. Dr. Worrilow also shared date recently presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM) conference, detailing the clinically significant increases in blastocyst conversion rates, implantation rates, clinical pregnancy rates, ongoing pregnancy rates and the decrease in loss rates by those IVF programs that have installed the LifeAire System.
Also in attendance of the meeting was Antonia Gilligan, President of Alpha Environmental, a well-respected third party air testing and ART environmental chemist consultant who presented on the second day of the meeting. Her topic was “ART and the Environment”. This was an extremely important presentation for LifeAire, considering Ms. Gilligan is considered to be the “gold standard” when it comes to air quality analysis of an IVF Laboratory. Key to note was Ms. Gilligan’s overwhelming endorsement to one of LifeAire System’s most recent installations. In Ms. Gilligan’s words, “she almost fell off her chair when she saw how good the air quality test results were; you knocked it out of the park”. Erik Marsh, LifeAire Systems Director of Sales and Business Development commented, “Needless to say this endorsement has been well received by LifeAire Systems and we look forward to continuing to share the LifeAire System technology and incredibly positive impact on outcomes with our clinical colleagues and their patients!”
