Alicia R. Urrutia
Vice President of Engineering, LifeAire Systems
Alicia R. Urrutia is the Vice President of Engineering for LifeAire Systems, where she leads engineering, product development, manufacturing operations, quality systems, and regulatory initiatives for the company’s advanced air purification technologies.
Alicia has played a key role in LifeAire’s growth from technology development through commercial manufacturing. She led the planning, design, equipment installation, and staffing of LifeAire’s manufacturing facility and oversees manufacturing operations, procurement, inventory, and production support processes.
Alicia manages new product development from concept through commercialization, including replacement components, consumable products, and next-generation air purification solutions for healthcare environments. Her work contributed to launching multiple new products and developing additional high-impact products. She also directs FDA regulatory compliance efforts, including the 510(k) process, quality management system implementation and maintenance, outside testing coordination, and technical documentation.
In addition to her engineering and manufacturing responsibilities, Alicia supports clinical study execution, environmental data analysis, post-launch product performance evaluation, and intellectual property management. Her work has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications and supports LifeAire’s ongoing commitment to validated, science-driven air purification solutions.
Prior to joining LifeAire, Alicia worked at Heidelberg Materials as a Plant Process Engineer, where she managed large-scale cement manufacturing processes, facility optimization initiatives, major maintenance outages, and capital projects. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from Cornell University.
