World Embryologists Day was created to celebrate the gains in the field of reproductive medicine and to recognize the scientists who work in it. The date of July 25th was chosen because it is the birthday of the first IVF baby, Louise Joy Brown, who was born in 1978.
On November 10, 1977, Louise’s mother, Lesley Brown underwent an in vitro fertilization (IVF) procedure developed by Drs. Patrick Steptoe and Robert Edwards. Today, there are now over 5 million estimated IVF babies.
LifeAire Systems recognizes the impact that embryologists around the world have on patient care and thanks them for helping fullfill their patients’ dreams of having a family.
