A new In Vitro fertilization laboratory has opened in New York and is highlighting the air purification technology developed by Upper Macungie Township’s LifeAire Systems LLC, the Innovation Hero award recipient of April’s Healthcare Heroes for Lehigh Valley Business.
Gold Coast IVF in Woodbury, N.Y., a reproductive and surgery center founded by medical director Dr. Steven Palter, has opened an In Vitro fertilization laboratory and patient center, and key to its technologies is the custom-designed air purification system by LifeAire.
LifeAire Systems’ technology provides clean, contaminant-free air essential in the process of In Vitro fertilization to support the growth of the embryo.
“We are thrilled to participate with Dr. Palter and his colleagues in such a successful In Vitro fertilization
program,” said Kathryn Worrilow, founder and CEO of LifeAire Systems. “We share the same vision in offering the highest level of patient care possible.”
Since 2001, Gold Coast IVF has been providing medical care to infertility patients who are on the road to parenthood.
“We are very excited about our new center, which brings together cutting-edge technology, the finest staff and collaborations with thought leaders from myriad disciplines from around the world,” Palter said.
LifeAire Systems was founded in 2010 after Worrilow discovered that chemical and biological contaminants in the air can significantly reduce the chances of a successful In Vitro fertilization procedure. Since then, more than 2,500 couples and hundreds of thousands of embryos from around the nation have taken advantage of the technology, which has increased the clinical pregnancy rate through In Vitro fertilization.
“The LifeAire System installed at Gold Coast IVF was specifically designed to accommodate an unusually large physical clinical and laboratory footprint …,” Worrilow said
