William A. Bachenberg founded Data Based Systems International in 1981 and merged the company with two other firms in 2012. During that time he led the company from a one-person technology consulting organization to an 80 plus person information technology company with sales of over 40 million dollars. During the 32-year history of the firm, he successfully re-engineered the company several times to capitalize on major changes in the IT landscape. 

DBSi currently provides innovative hosting services that allow companies to successfully deploy very complex environments. Under Mr. Bachenberg’s leadership, the company has enjoyed continuous growth. Mr. Bachenberg launched the company by writing and selling software packages for the petroleum distribution industry and agri-business. Several years later the company began selling mini-computers along with custom accounting and distribution software solutions. For many years the firm’s core business was systems integration along with benchmarking and system testing services. 

Unlike most other systems integrators, DBSi provided unique services that gave it a strong reputation with customers and suppliers alike. DBSi’s pre-staging and quality assurance services ensured that a customer’s equipment would always arrive complete and would be productive within hours of delivery. Mr. Bachenberg, anticipating the complexities of implementing new IT environments, built some of the most advanced technology centers in the Northeast. DBSi leverages its 32 years of information technology experience to provide innovative hosting and disaster recovery solutions to some of the largest companies in the world. 

In 2000, Mr. Bachenberg started Lehigh Valley Sporting Clays, a sporting clays shooting range located just north of Allentown PA. It was Mr. Bachenberg’s goal create a one-of-a-kind shooting facility that was unique, safe and friendly to introduce women and youth to shooting sports. He also focused on building the corporate entertaining side of the business along with fundraising shoots that helps local non-profits raise hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. Over the years it has grown to one of the top 10 sporting clays courses in country with an additional focus on supporting disabled shooting opportunities. 

Today Mr. Bachenberg sits on the National Rifle Association Board of Directors, elected by the general membership. He is Chairman of the Finance Committee, Vice Chairman of Urban Affairs Committee, a member of Audit and Annual Meeting Site Selection Committees and a Trustee on the NRA Foundation board. 

Mr. Bachenberg is a royal knight of The International Order of Saint Hubertus with the rank of Knight Commander and Northeast Prior. He is also a member of Safari Club International, Rocky Mountain Elk, Ruffed Grouse Society, National Wild Turkey Federation, Ducks Unlimited, National Sporting Clays Association and PA Flyers. 

Prior to founding DBSi, Mr. Bachenberg owned and operated an 800-acre grain farm and a farm equipment dealership for several years. He was active in many organizations and company boards including the Lehigh Valley Technology Network, Founding Member; Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, Trustee, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Hunterdon & Somerset Counties Trustee and Treasurer; Hunterdon County Board of Agriculture, President and worked with many foreign agricultural delegations to discuss and exchange information on agricultural issues. For eleven years he was an active member of the Rotary Club of Flemington, New Jersey.
